Meet your photographer
I have spent my career paying attention.
I am Robert Stevens. I photograph weddings, portraits, fine art, and news in Sanpete County. Years of photojournalism have taught me to stay ready, notice what other people miss, and make good photographs even when the light or schedule is not cooperating.
I am based in Manti and photograph weddings, families, seniors, couples, headshots, and the landscape and working life of the American West.
How I work
Direction when you need it and room to be yourself.
Most people do not walk into a session knowing what to do with their hands. That is normal. I give enough direction to keep things comfortable, then leave room for the expressions and interactions that cannot be planned.
I help with position, light, and timing without making every frame feel staged. I also watch for what happens just before everyone is ready and just after they think we are done.
I choose and edit the successful photographs myself, so the final gallery stays consistent from beginning to end.

Over the eleven years I have worked professionally, my photographs have earned dozens of awards in regional, statewide, national, and international competitions. I am grateful for that recognition, especially because the work has included news, sports, portraits, weddings, and fine art.
A handful I am especially proud of include first place in all three Utah Press Association community weekly photography categories in 2019, a statewide portrait competition judged by Joel Grimes and Josh Rossi that same year, and the photography category in the 2022 Central Utah Art Show. For clients, the useful part is the experience behind the awards. I know how to work in difficult light, organize a large group, settle nervous people, and recognize a photograph before the moment disappears.
